About

Welcome to the site of Belgrade SQL Server User group. SQL Server User group usually gathers once a month on the premises of Microsoft Serbia (Španskih boraca 3/III, Novi Beograd) and we use that opportunity to hear lectures on MS SQL Server and to exchange  our  experiences of working with MS SQL Server. Since we believe that many people have lots of things to say and they cannot attend our User group monthly meetings,  we hope that this site will give everyone a chance to share their knowledge and information by writing blogs or posting comments, which could be interesting and useful for those who use  or are interested in MS SQL Server. On the other hand, in this way  we want to expand the circle of people  who want to say or hear something about MS SQL Server and who do not live  or work in Belgrade. We offer you a warm welcome and we hope that together  we will  succeed in  making  something useful and  interesting out of this site.

For many years, I have been working with IT and I believe that I have a lot to say. In different rolls, I participated in the implementation of various development projects for a number of business systems in Serbia. I’m trying to use that knowledge and experience and, whenever possible, transfer it to all concerned because in that process I also learn a lot. My areas of interest are Microsoft SQL Server and its services as the bases for development of Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Systems (SSAS, SSRS, SSIS, MDS, DQS, PowerPivot, Tabular Model …). I am also interested in methodologies for management of development projects, especially when it comes to Iterative and Agile methodologies and their comparison. My Master’s degree thesis was “Implementation of projects for development of master data management systems in accordance with the recommendations of the SCRUM agile methodology”. As a lecturer, I have participated in the last seven “Microsoft Sinergija” conferences. My lecture topics were related to Microsoft SQL Server and its services. In Microsoft’s organization or as an invited speaker, I gave lectures at several universities in Serbia and the topic was SQL Server and development of dimensional Data Warehouse models. I have been writing a blog on topics related to Microsoft SQL Server on msacademic.rs. For the last three years I have been one of the coordinators of the Belgrade SQL Server User Group. In April 2012, I got the Microsoft MVP award.
